Overall, La Qchara is celebrated as a local favorite that combines quality food, friendly ambiance, and efficient operation.
I heard about this place from a friend so I stopped by to grab an espresso on a Sunday morning around 9a. Clearly this is a local favorite as folks were sitting outside and inside it was pretty busy. The interior was very clean and very cool with the hanging lights. I was greeted at the counter by a lovely girl who took my order. There were a lot of tempting food options but sadly I had already eaten breakfast. Looking around at the tables, the portions were quite large and the food looked great. My espresso was VERY good - they use great beans as it was much smoother than Starbucks or Cafe Nero. Loved the cup too! I will definitely return with my appetite and friends to try the food (not just breakfast). I definitely recommend trying out this local spot. Good to know: plenty of parking on the street and by the train tracks on the side of the building. They also take Apple Pay. Available indoor and outdoor seating (small cafe tables) on the sidewalk.
Update May 2023 -- A perfect place to hang out on a Sunday afternoon- sin the direction of sunlight gives you beautiful shade after noon! As always, the food is authentic and delicious! Update- December 2022- we ordered 5 take-out entrees. They were all delicious, well packaged and ready for pick-up on time at a reasonable price. La Qchara is so well run! Recent update- this is still a great place for casual atmosphere and delicious food. Ownership/ management really nurtures a fun atmosphere. La Qchara is a Relaxed Neighborhood place where everyone is welcome and the food is WORLD CLASS. (I'm not exaggerating!) . The Lunch menu is huge, staff is nice and prices are reasonable, especially considering the great quality
We are in town from Indiana and 3 out of 4 places we went for breakfast were closed, one had a line out the door so we stopped here.. I think that was the best decision we have made!! The food was amazing. The staff was so helpful! And the atmosphere is perfect!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!!!
Best impromptu breakfast decision we could make (for our hearts, not our wallets)! The menu is huge, with endless options for all meals of the day. The food was fresh and felt homemade, with incredible and rich flavors. The yuca is prepared PERFECTLY. I’m usually disappointed when I order yuca fries bc they end up just tasting processed but these were legit. Their coffee options are the same as the food menu: lots of options for high quality and delicious drinks. My only complaint is that breakfast for 2 (1 meal and 1 drink each) ended up costing $55 with tip.
My GF lives close by here and we randomly went here since Ernie’s was closed. This place is great. I ordered a rice, beans, and I got my GF to order a side of chorizos with her breakfast burrito to give to me since she doesn’t eat pork, and chorizo isn’t a side item. I loved my food, and so did she.
Great food with an array of Latino dishes from all over Latin America. They also offer a kids menu & baked goods. Ample parking and kid friendly.
Loved the coffee little Cafe setup, but was confused if it was coffee or dining. Well...It is both! Order at the counter and sit down. I go the empanadas that exploded with chicken. I loved the light sauce with it, too. Also, I got the salad with nice fresh apples! I would have liked to have seen like a lunch combo. The price was $22 with an Iced tea. They also have a rewards program, so have a receipt emailed to you, and it enrolls you. Nice and easy! Little chilly on a cold door with the door opening and closing. They could use a door blower curtain. Sam helped me with a half eggnog and half nonfat milk latte. Also, Sam recommended the keylime tart. He was dead on as this is a nice snack.
We had the best lunch catered by La Qchara last Saturday for a group of friends from 4 countries (including Colombia and Venezuela). Everyone loved the food, particularly our friends from Colombia and Venezuela. They said the food was fantastic! Emily was so nice when she delivered the food, and it was right on time. We would definitely order from La Qchara again for such authentic food.
